Join us for the 2026-2027 school year!North Bullitt is seeking three (3) Special Education Instructional Health Assistants to support teachers in instructing students with special needs for the 26-27 school year. This role is vital in supporting our certified teachers to provide high-quality instruction, monitor student progress, and enhance the overall educational experience for students with special needs.If you are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!The Special Education Instructional Health Assistant supports students with diverse learning needs by providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assistance under the direction of certified teachers and special education staff. This role is essential in creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment where all students can grow, access instruction, and experience success while actively contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment for students and staff.Position DetailsHours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)Contract Length: 183 days per year170 student instructional days4 holidays7 planning days2 extended daysContract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start dateEmployment Status: Full-time with benefitsEmployment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay scheduleQualifications & RequirementsEducation: Must meet one of the following:48 college semester hoursAn Associate's Degree ORHigh school diploma plus a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam.Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.Compensation & Experience CreditSalary for the 2026-2027 school year will be based on Board approved salary schedule.2025-2026 Pay Scale* Starting Pay (Step 0): $15.98/hour* Experienced Pay (Step 10): $19.67/hourWe value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.* The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
