Job Title: Data Center Project ManagerCompany: Amazon Location: Boardman, OR (On-site) Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $111,300 - $186,100/yearAbout the RoleAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the team responsible for keeping the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.We are seeking an energetic Data Center Project Manager to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers. You will join the Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team, a project management and execution group that manages construction activity within operational data center spaces. The CPI team is tasked with critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize the utilization of space, power, and cooling within operational data centers around the globe. These activities are outside the scope of standard construction delivery and regular preventative maintenance tasks.As a Project Manager, you will be part of a highly creative and efficient team tasked with tackling complex challenges in designing, building, and operating Amazon data facilities. You will be ultimately responsible for project oversight and review of all disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as you will be expected to identify areas for improvement and act on data provided from other teams and organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize space, power, and cooling utilization within operational data centers.Provide overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.Oversee and review all project disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural systems.Identify areas for improvement and act on data provided from internal teams and external organizations.Design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges.Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams, including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.Manage project scope including the improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.Knowledge of critical data center equipment.Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.Knowledge of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure.Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.Required CertificationsProject Management Professional (PMP)AWS Certified Solutions ArchitectLean Six Sigma Green BeltCertified Data Center ManagementOSHA Safety CertificationRequired SkillsProject ManagementElectrical SystemsMechanical SystemsConstruction OversightData Center OperationsAbout AWSAmazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
