Banquet ChefJob OverviewWe are seeking a talented and experienced Banquet Chef to lead the culinary operations of a premier waterfront event venue operated by It’s Our Pleasure Hospitality Group. Specializing in weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, galas, and upscale private functions, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing all banquet kitchen operations while delivering exceptional food quality, presentation, and guest experiences across events ranging from intimate gatherings of 50 guests to large-scale celebrations exceeding 500 guests.The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced banquet environment, and possesses strong leadership, creativity, and organizational skills. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume, upscale setting known for elegant events, refined service, and unforgettable guest experiences while being part of a growing hospitality group with multiple established venues and restaurants throughout the region.ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of banquet food preparation and execution for weddings, cocktail receptions, bridal showers, corporate functions, galas, holiday parties, and private celebrationsExecute events ranging from 50 to 500+ guests while maintaining consistency, timing, and exceptional presentation standardsLead, supervise, and motivate culinary staff including sous chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen assistantsCollaborate with event managers and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless event execution and guest satisfactionDevelop and refine banquet menus that reflect seasonal offerings, client preferences, dietary accommodations, and modern culinary trendsManage food purchasing, inventory control, scheduling, and cost management while minimizing wasteMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen operation while adhering to all health and food safety regulationsCoordinate production timelines and kitchen logistics for multiple simultaneous events in a high-volume environmentTrain staff on food preparation techniques, plating standards, kitchen procedures, and service expectationsMaintain professionalism and composure during high-pressure service periodsQualifications3–5+ years of banquet, catering, or high-volume culinary experiencePrevious leadership experience in an upscale hospitality, catering, hotel, country club, or event venue environmentStrong knowledge of banquet production, kitchen operations, and large-scale event executionExperience executing weddings and formal catered events for 200–500+ guests preferredExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of inventory management, food cost controls, staffing coordination, and sanitation standardsCulinary degree or professional culinary training preferred, but not required with relevant experiencePassion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiencesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceOpportunity for growth within It’s Our Pleasure Hospitality GroupPerformance-based bonuses and benefits availableProfessional, team-oriented work environmentThe opportunity to work in a beautiful waterfront event setting hosting some of the area's premier weddings and celebrationsJoin our culinary team and help create exceptional dining experiences that make every event truly unforgettable.
