You will have a unique opportunity to expand your reach in terms of knowledge and network and to build your expertise through SWIFT’s global platform.Swift is unable to sponsor an employment authorization for this position now or in the future.What to Expect:In this role you will: Software Development & SupportContribute to the implementation of software modules using C++ and/or Java under supervisionWrite clean, maintainable code following internal coding standards and review feedback loopsAssist in debugging, unit testing, and improving existing modules across FINTECH systemsDatabase Interaction & QueryingWork with Oracle SQL to write simple queries, update records and assist in performance validationSupport senior engineers in maintaining database tables, stored procedures and data modelsSystems Engineering & Runtime SupportAssist in configuring and maintaining applications on RHEL Linux environmentsSupport deployment workflows, basic log analysis, and application restartsLearn to troubleshoot environment issues and escalate incidents appropriatelyCommunication & Networking ProtocolsGain hands-on exposure to RESTful APIs and gRPC service interactionsUnderstand basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, ports, firewalls and SSL/TLS fundamentalsScripting & AutomationWrite small automation scripts using Bash; Python knowledge is a plus. Support automation efforts for build pipelines, environment setup and system checksCollaboration & Continuous LearningParticipate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and code reviewsWork closely with senior developers to understand solution architecture and design rationaleDocument your tasks, contribute to technical notes, and maintain internal knowledge basesWhat will make you successful:We are seeking professionals with:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field2-4 years of experienceCore DevelopmentBasic proficiency in C++ and/or Java, including OOP concepts and debugging fundamentalsFamiliarity with IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse, VS Code) and version control tools (Git)Database SkillsWorking knowledge of SQL, ability to create and run basic queries and joinsExposure to Oracle or similar RDBMS environmentsCommunication ProtocolsBasic understanding of APIs, particularly RESTWillingness to learn gRPC and associated serialization concepts (Protocol Buffers)Operating Systems & NetworkingHands-on exposure to Linux (RHEL) command lineUnderstanding of basic networking concepts (ping, traceroute, IPs, ports, certificates)Scripting ToolsBasic competence in Bash scriptingPython exposure is advantageous but not mandatoryStrong willingness to learn and ability to absorb feedback effectivelyEffective communication skills for working with cross-functional teamsAnalytical mindset with a problem-solving attitudeOwnership and curiosity toward understanding the broader FINTECH domainTeam player with the ability to follow guidance from senior engineersThe estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $82,361.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $152,955.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
