Senior Electrical EngineerAbout the FirmThis multidisciplinary Architecture and Engineering (A/E) firm provides sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions across healthcare, higher education, federal, government, institutional, and mixed-use facilities.With integrated Architecture, MEP Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Interior Design, and Sustainability Consulting services, the firm delivers high-performance building systems that improve communities and enhance the built environment.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, federal buildings, and institutional projects.This role requires expertise in power distribution, lighting design, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage infrastructure. The Senior Electrical Engineer will support projects from concept through construction administration while collaborating closely with architectural and MEP engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical system design for commercial, healthcare, and federal facilitiesDesign normal and emergency power distribution systems, including switchboards, panelboards, feeders, transformers, and grounding systemsDevelop load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short circuit and fault current studiesProduce panel schedules, one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and equipment layouts using Revit and Design Master ElectricalCoordinate with utility providers for service requirements, transformer sizing, and meteringDesign and document:Lighting systems and lighting controlsFire alarm systems (NFPA 72 compliant)Low-voltage systems (IT, telecom, security, AV pathways)Prepare Basis of Design (BOD) documents, technical specifications, and system narrativesPerform QA/QC reviews of drawings and calculationsSupport construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and punch listsParticipate in client meetings and interdisciplinary coordinationMentor junior electrical engineers and designersRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within a consulting or professional services firmProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1–2 yearsStrong experience in healthcare, federal, higher education, or institutional electrical designProficiency in Revit (5+ years preferred)Experience with Design Master Electrical (preferred) or SKM PowerToolsStrong working knowledge of:NEC (National Electrical Code)NFPA 70NFPA 72State and local building codesPreferred ExperienceHealthcare electrical system designFederal or VA project experienceRenewable energy systems and solar power applicationsExperience coordinating multidisciplinary MEP teamsTechnical SkillsPower system studies and electrical calculationsEmergency power and generator system designLighting photometric coordinationUtility coordination and service designConstruction documentation and specification writingProject management support and multi-project coordinationStrong technical writing and client communication skillsSoftware ProficiencyRevit (advanced proficiency)Design Master ElectricalSKM PowerToolsAutoCADMicrosoft Office SuiteBluebeamProfessional GrowthThis role offers the opportunity to work on complex healthcare and federal electrical engineering projects, collaborate with experienced MEP professionals, and advance technical leadership skills within a fast-paced design environment.????Apply TodaySubmit your confidential resume and portfolio or project list to: Amy Tischer, Executive Talent Advisor at MRI of Zionsville???? amy@mriz.net????
