Job Title: API Integration Engineer (TypeScript)Location: India (Remote)Employment Type: Full-TimeIndustry: Healthcare / Technology / SaaSAbout the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled API Integration Engineer with strong TypeScript expertise to design, build, and maintain scalable integrations between internal platforms and third-party systems. This role is critical in enabling seamless data exchange, system interoperability, and real-time communication across services in a cloud-native environment.You will work closely with product, backend, and platform teams to integrate APIs, streamline workflows, and support enterprise-grade solutions—particularly in healthcare and regulated environments .Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs using TypeScriptBuild and manage API integrations with third-party platforms, SaaS tools, and internal servicesImplement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys)Handle data transformation, validation, and error handling across systemsDevelop and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI / SwaggerCollaborate with frontend, backend, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integrationMonitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for scalability and reliabilityEnsure integrations comply with security, compliance, and data privacy standards (HIPAA preferred)Required Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience in API development and system integrationsStrong proficiency in TypeScript (Node.js-based frameworks preferred)Hands-on experience with REST APIs , webhooks, and asynchronous messagingExperience integrating third-party APIs (payments, CRM, healthcare, telephony, etc.)Solid understanding of JSON, HTTP protocols, API versioning, and rate limitingExperience with OAuth 2.0, JWT , and secure API designFamiliarity with cloud platforms ( Azure / AWS / GCP )Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and communication skillsPreferred / Nice-to-HaveHealthcare or regulated-domain experience (HIPAA, PHI data)Experience with GraphQL , FHIR APIs , or HL7 integrationsKnowledge of microservices architectureExperience with CI/CD pipelines , Docker, and KubernetesExposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, Event Hub, Pub/Sub)
