HR Generalist - Full Time (Horseshoe Hammond)

Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Research leaves and benefits related issues for team members to successfully resolve and administer Personal leave of Absence (PLOA) and ADA procedures in accordance with company policies and with state and federal laws, ensuring accurate records are maintained.Provide direction to employees and management regarding FMLA, PLOA and all state and federal laws relevant to the Leave of AbsenceInforms team members of leave and benefit usage by preparing and distributing benefit communications involving phone calls and email follow-up to team members.Manages and resolves Payroll inquiries.Reviews and approves, Salary changes, Statues Changes and in accordance with our policies and procedures.Resolves team member questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Facilitate new hire on-boarding, Oracle, and all HR related events including badging of newly hired employees, renewals, and badge updates.Compile, organize, represent, and track all state/federal unemployment information.Manages and resolves employee relations/labor relations team member conflicts.Coordinate Horseshoe Board of Review HearingsEnrollment and tracking of training completed for the property included but not limited to AML, RG, Safety and ComplianceAdditional duties as assigned/requested.General RequirementsBachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related fieldMinimum of 1 year in Human Resources or recruitment/external search experienceExperience with HRMS/HRIS systemsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.PHR or SPHR certification preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish a plusQualificationsExperience tracking/training FMLA, LOA, ADAKnowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of state and federal employment regulationsUnderstanding of personnel and compliance records management Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software.Critical thinking skills and resourceful thinkingLeadership and coaching skillsStrong empathy and people skillsMeticulous with excellent organizational skillsAttention to detail and analytically drivenMust be able to maintain confidentialityTeam Member Perks & BenefitsGreat benefits including medical, dental, and vision!Enjoy discounts on shopping, travel, and more through our rewards programOn-site employee dining optionsPaid orientation and on-job training providedPaid time off, 401K match, and life insuranceAnd More!About UsJoin the thousands of winners at Horseshoe Casino Hammond!
