We OfferHealth, dental and vision insuranceGenerous paid time off (vacation, flex or sick)Holiday payMeal and Transportation Benefits*401(k) retirement plan with company match*Company paid life insurance*Tuition reimbursementEmployee assistance programTraining and exciting career growth opportunitiesReferral program - refer a friend and earn a bonusBenefits may vary by position so ask your recruiter for details.Airport Location: Fort Lauderdale Airport F&BAdvertised Compensation: $18.00 toSummary:The Sushi Cook is responsible for preparing sushi and other various food products, ensuring the quality and presentation of food products prepared, performing all station functions necessary in the prep and cooking areas, providing the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the Sushi Chef depending upon local requirements.Essential Functions:Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation and presentationFollows menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as neededPractices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standardsTransfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cartPrepares appropriate equipment for cookingOperates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for heating, weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food productsEnsures proper food handling procedures are followed for wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of productsReceives and inventories food and beverage product and suppliesCleans and sanitizes workstation and equipmentStocks, dates, rotates and checks temperature of productMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:Requires a high school diploma or equivalent GEDRequires a minimum of 1 year of closely related Sushi cooking experience with food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards; requires food knowledge of SushiMust be able to pass company provided food & safety sanitation classRequires work experience in a high volume and casual dining restaurant environmentRequires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functionsRequires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 poundsRequires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customersAbility to speak and write Japanese a plusFrequently works with sharp knives and utensilsFrequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutionsAvolta, including Dufry, HMSHost Corporation, Hudson, and affiliates ("the Company"), is an equal opportunity employer.
