Safety Coordinator

Location: South Bend, IN (On-site, AWS Data Center Project)Employment Type: Contract (W-2 or 1099 options available)Pay: Competitive, based on experienceIndustry: Data Center Construction / Low Voltage InfrastructureAbout the Role:We are hiring a Data Center Safety Coordinator to join a growing mission-critical infrastructure team supporting a major hyperscale data center site in South Bend, Indiana. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Safety Manager and help enforce environmental health and safety (EHS) procedures across structured cabling and construction activities within an active data center build environment.This is a boots-on-the-ground safety role ideal for someone with prior experience supporting data center or commercial construction safety programs.Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on-siteEnforce OSHA and company-specific safety protocolsAssist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actionsDeliver toolbox talks and safety training sessionsMaintain safety logs, reports, and records in compliance with local and federal standardsMonitor confined space activities, elevated work operations, and material handling proceduresCoordinate with field techs, project managers, and general contractors to maintain safe work zonesQualifications: 3-5 years of safety experience in construction, data centers, or structured cabling environmentsValid OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred)Hands-on training or certification in:Confined space awarenessForklift and MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)First Aid/CPRStrong communication skills and a proactive, field-oriented mindsetComfortable working in high-paced, evolving job site environmentsPreferred: Familiarity with low voltage/structured cabling projectsKnowledge of AWS/Azure/Meta DC construction protocols is a plusFluency in Spanish LanguageNote: Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
