Job Summary The Drafter supports engineering and manufacturing operations by creating and maintaining accurate technical drawings, models, and documentation used for the fabrication, assembly, and inspection of products. This role works closely with engineers, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are clear, manufacturable, and compliant with company and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Create, revise, and maintain 2D and/or 3D CAD drawings for parts, assemblies, and tooling Converts engineering concepts, sketches, and redlines into detailed manufacturing drawings Apply proper dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, notes, and specifications Prepare and update bills of materials (BOMs) and related documentation Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and maintain drawing revision control Ensure drawings comply with company standards and applicable industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, quality, and procurement to resolve design or production issues Assist in documenting standard parts, processes, and design libraries Maintain organized digital records within CAD and document control systems Provide drafting support for continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, sheet metal, fabrication, assembly, etc.) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic understanding of GD&T and tolerancing principles Effective communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and document control processes Experience supporting engineering change management Knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing standards Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Work Environment Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with the shop floor May require occasional time in manufacturing areas to verify designs or measurements Standard business hours: overtime may be required during peak project periods Physical Environment Work is performed in both an office setting and a manufacturing/shop floor environment Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, moving machinery, dust, oils, and varying temperatures May be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, and hard hats when on the shop floor Requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching while reviewing parts, equipment, or production processes May require lifting or carrying items such as drawings, tools, or parts weighing up to a specified limit (commonly 25–50 lbs, as applicable) What We offer Competitive salary and benefits package Hands-on training and mentorship from experienced engineers Opportunities for career growth and advancement A collaborative and innovative work environment Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools An opportunity to do cool stuff every day Benefits Competitive salary Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and holidays Timesavers, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to fostering a workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment.
