Principal Systems Engineer – Lunar Mobility & Space RoboticsWe are supporting an innovative space robotics company developing next-generation lunar mobility and autonomous systems for future planetary exploration missions. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to play a key leadership role across one of their flagship lunar vehicle programs.This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of lunar surface mobility, helping drive the design, integration, testing, and deployment of complex robotic and spacecraft systems in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.The RoleAs Principal Systems Engineer, you will lead Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) activities across advanced lunar mobility programs, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external partners to ensure successful system development and mission execution.You will help shape system architectures, manage technical requirements, oversee integration and verification activities, and provide technical leadership across highly complex engineering programs designed for operation in extreme environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead systems engineering activities across advanced lunar mobility and robotic systems programsDrive requirements definition, traceability, verification, and validation activitiesSupport the design, integration, testing, and deployment of spacecraft and autonomous systemsCoordinate with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, and external partners to ensure successful program executionDevelop and manage technical documentation including ICDs, IDDs, trade studies, CONOPS, and risk assessmentsParticipate in technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, and customer presentationsSupport project planning, technical decision-making, and overall systems architecture developmentMentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teamsRequired BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field10+ years of experience within systems engineering, product development, or complex hardware programsStrong background in requirements management and systems architectureExperience working with spacecraft, robotics, autonomous systems, or other highly complex engineering productsStrong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software system integrationExperience working with technical documentation, interface control, and verification processesPreferred ExperienceLunar mobility, robotics, automotive, or autonomous vehicle experiencePrevious leadership or SEIT management experiencePMP certificationExperience supporting government contracts or regulated aerospace programsWhy Apply?This is a rare opportunity to help build technologies that will directly contribute to the future of lunar exploration and long-duration space operations.You’ll be joining a team developing real systems for real missions, working on cutting-edge robotics, mobility, and autonomous technologies designed for the Moon and beyond.
