On-Call Substitute Teacher

Seeking an On-Call Substitute Flex Schedule: Pre-planned workdays- Scheduled days throughout the month to substitute either in the office or classroom as needed by staff. Last minute call-ins - Night before or morning of emergency calls for a substitute either in the office or classroom as needed by staff. Education and Qualifications: Have a high school diploma or its equivalent and have childcare experience. Duties include, but are not limited to: - Assist in the preparation of the environment. - Supporting the guide. - Work with children as directed by the guide. Perform any special tasks assigned by the guide. - Observe the children’s behavior and communicate these observations to the guide. - Give full conscious attention to each encounter with a child. - Treat all children with dignity and respect and without preferences. - Use positive phrasing and discipline. - Make every effort to be available when called. - Maintain current pediatric CPR, First Aid, and required training to work with children as outlined by The State of Texas Childcare Licensing. The ideal candidate will come with a basic awareness of Montessori activities or be open to acquiring knowledge of the Montessori philosophy and a love for children. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour *Will pay hourly wage for required continuing education hours.
