Job Description Description:Private Neurology practice is seeking a Medical Assistant in Ahwatukee.You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.1. Administrative FunctionsThe Medical Assistant performs all duties required for back-office staff including but not limited to:Patient flow: Greeting patients, vital signs, rooming patients, room set up and EMRBack Office: Phone calls, appointment scheduling, message taking, filing, charting, faxing, prescription refills, prior authorizations, correspondence with other health care professionals/facilities, coordinating with testing labs and processing of result lettersProcedures: Injections, drawing blood, urine drug screens, autoclave, centrifuge, setting up for epidural//blood patch, and set up for EMG,Miscellaneous Tasks: Stocking rooms, ordering supplies, and other duties as assigned.2. Clinical DutiesIn addition to administrative functions, medical assistants have clinical duties that may include:Exam room preparationInventory and stocking of medical suppliesIM and SQ injections as well as educating patients how to do these injections at homeCollection/preparation of lab specimens (urine, blood, spinal fluid, blood, tissues)Drawing bloodAssisting physician during examination/procedurePrepares daily exam rooms for patient care including stockingMay welcome and greet all patients and visitors in person or over the phoneEscorts patients to exam rooms taking the required vital signsTriage patient calls for pharmacy requests, test results, medical questions, and concerns as directed by the physicianDocument in the EMRCommunicate documented medical advice, interpretation of test results and orders from a Doctor of Medicine, PA, or NPObtain process and communicate medication or procedure prior authorization as documented and ordered by a Doctor of Medicine, PA, or NPAnd any other duties as assigned by company management to which employee is qualified that will not detract from primary responsibilities.?Qualifications:Current Registered Certificate or 10 years MA experienceAthena EMR experience preferredVitals, injections, EKGsPhlebotomyAssisting providersFamiliarity with medical billing proceduresStrong organizational skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentRequirements:
