Data Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!The Role• Define and maintain security standards, guardrails, gold standards, and reference configurations.• Provide security guidance and contribute to the design and review of solutions, identifying gaps and recommending compensating controls.• Translate and extend enterprise data security controls and classification frameworks across various data platforms.• Drive the validation and adoption of security controls, including documentation, proof-of-concepts, and remediation support.• Advise on architectural patterns and influence security strategy.What You'll Need• 7+ years of experience in data security, cybersecurity engineering, or cloud security.• Hands-on experience in data security engineering, preferably within a financial services environment.• Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, and regulatory examinations.• Understanding of identity-centric and behavior-based security models, including Zero Trust principles.• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating data security controls across structured data environments.• Strong expertise in data protection mechanisms such as encryption, tokenization, masking, and sensitive data classification.• Experience securing modern data platforms and pipelines, including databases, data warehouses/lakehouses, and ETL/ELT workflows.• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GLBA, SOX, FFIEC, NYDFS 500) and security frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF).What's On Offer• Competitive salary.• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.• Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick time, and personal days.• Opportunities for bonuses and profit sharing.Apply via Haystack today!
