Job DescriptionLocation: Powder River Basin area near Gillette, WyomingWood is hiring a Pump Shop Technician to support field operations in the Powder River Basin. This role is ideal for hands-on, mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working in outdoor environments and supporting oilfield operations.Wood offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and more.Authorization to work lawfully in the United States without sponsorship from Wood is required.ResponsibilitiesJOB SCOPE: Perform hands-on assembly, disassembly, installation, and servicing of steel stage pumps, submersible motors, and downhole equipment. Work is performed in pump shops, yards, and remote field locations. This role involves heavy lifting, extended hours, and exposure to all weather conditions.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)Assemble and disassemble steel stage pumps and submersible motorsInstall and service downhole pumping equipment in field locationsTroubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as neededSafely operate power tools, forklifts, hoists, and lifting equipmentMaintain tools, equipment, and a clean, hazard-free work areaFollow all safety policies, job procedures, and work instructionsWork independently or as part of a field teamCommunicate with supervisors and customers regarding equipment statusQualificationsRequired SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experienceAbility to work outdoors in remote locations and harsh weatherComfortable with physical demands and extended/overtime hoursExperience using power tools and shop equipmentAbility to follow written and verbal job instructionsStrong safety awareness and job-site disciplineAbility to pass drug and alcohol testingPreferred ExperiencePump shop or artificial lift experienceWorkover rig or oilfield service experienceField-based mechanical or maintenance backgroundIdeal CandidateSafety-first mindsetReliable, self-motivated, and physically capableTeam-oriented with a strong work ethicAbout UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
