The ideal candidate will have strong hands on experience with DB2 LUW administration across Linux, Unix, and Windows environments, along with database migration, SQL development, performance tuning, scripting, and data modeling.The candidate will work closely with application development teams to understand technical and business requirements, provide database services, support database design, maintain operational stability, and contribute to cloud migration initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Administer and maintain DB2 LUW database environments across on premises and cloud platformsCreate and configure DB2 LUW instances and databases across Linux, Unix, and Windows environmentsSupport database environments throughout development, testing, and productionCreate and manage database objects based on application requirementsPerform database object migration and data conversion activitiesSupport application development teams with database design and technical requirementsAnalyze business and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate database solutionsPerform database migrations to cloud based platformsSupport operational stability, database availability, and ongoing maintenanceDevelop and execute SQL queries and database scriptsPerform query performance analysis and database tuningDevelop and maintain Linux and Unix shell scripts for database administration and operational activitiesUse shell commands, crontab, and vi editor for database administration and automation activitiesSupport database design and logical and physical data modelingTroubleshoot database issues and provide effective technical solutionsCollaborate with project teams using established tools, technologies, and delivery methodologiesManage multiple priorities and deliver database activities according to project timelinesParticipate in flexible work schedules when required to support project and operational needsRequired Skills:Strong experience with DB2 LUW database administrationSolid understanding of RDBMS conceptsExperience creating and managing DB2 LUW instances and databasesExperience working with DB2 LUW on Linux, Unix, and Windows environmentsExperience supporting both on premises and cloud database environmentsStrong Linux and Unix shell scripting experienceExperience with shell commands, crontab, and vi editorExperience creating and managing database objectsExperience with database object migration and data conversionStrong SQL and PL/SQL knowledgeExperience with query performance tuning and optimizationExperience with logical and physical data modelingStrong database troubleshooting and problem solving skillsStrong organizational and multitasking skillsAbility to prioritize activities and work according to project timelinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a hybrid delivery modelPreferred Skills:Experience with AWS cloud infrastructureExperience with AWS RDSExperience with Red Hat LinuxExperience with DB2 partitioningExperience with IBM DB2 PureScaleExperience with DB2 Federation setupExperience supporting cloud database modernization initiativesExperience with database migration to AWS environmentsExperience working with enterprise application development teamsEducation Requirement:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
