This is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-driven builder known for delivering quality housing projects across California.Project Types:Multi-Family • Affordable Housing • Mixed-Use Residential • Publicly Funded HousingPosition Overview:We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to manage all project-level accounting functions while acting as a key liaison between the Accounting and Project Management teams. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing, job costing, and financial reporting across assigned projects, with hands-on responsibility for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and joint check processing.Key Responsibilities:Maintain organized project contract and accounting filesPrepare and review AIA G702 & G703 billingsManage Accounts Receivable, including client invoicing, collections, and payment trackingManage Accounts Payable, including subcontractor and vendor invoices and payment processingPrepare and administer joint checks in accordance with contract and lien requirementsCoordinate subcontractor invoices and payments per contract termsReview project labor and expense charges with Project ManagersAnalyze job costs and generate detailed project cost reportsReview subcontractor statements and resolve discrepanciesProvide complete backup billing for CM and affordable housing projectsInteract professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teamsUtilize Timberline (BL, PJ, JC, AP modules) for project accountingSupport accurate and timely financial reportingQualifications:5+ years of experience in construction or project accountingStrong hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and joint checksExperience supporting multi-family and/or affordable housing projects strongly preferredStrong understanding of cost coding, pricing, purchase orders, and job costingProficiency with Timberline (Sage 300) and Microsoft ExcelAbility to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferredCompensation & Benefits:Salary Range (CA): $90,000 – $120,000 annuallyFull-time, salaried positionCompetitive benefits packageLong-term growth and advancement opportunities
