Overview Of Responsibilities Provides vision, strategic direction and oversight for end-to-end revenue cycle capabilities that support the long-term objectives, mission and vision of the organization. Collaborates with the department director to oversee and support the daily operations of the health information and revenue cycle teams. Plays a key role in defining, delivering and enhancing the consumer financial experience within the organization. Supports the department director in achieving financial objectives and strategies day to day. Assists the department director in establishing and implementing short, intermediate and long-term goals. Providers direction and goals for the revenue cycle team with a focus on integration with all operational areas. Ensure productivity of the revenue cycle team by developing and/or updating processes, methods, guidelines, policies and best practices. Conduct comprehensive analysis of Accounts Receivable metrics, including aging reports and denial rates. Review payer contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with negotiated terms, fee schedules and reimbursement rates. Will be a resource in interviewing, hiring, employee evaluations, and disciplinary action including separation of employment. Develop and performs data quality reviews. Collaborates with Patient Access, Contact Center and Case Management to support pre-registration, prior authorization and medical necessity to reduce or eliminate the negative impact on revenue cycle. Provides oversight for the payer enrollment process to ensure timely completion with regulatory organizational standards. Works with the revenue cycle management team and other operational leaders to enhance the front-end process that will identify and resolve potential issues for the back-end revenue cycle with the goal of a clean claim. Follows compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines of federal and state programs with an emphasis on prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse. Position includes other duties and projects as assigned to support goals and outcomes consistent with department expectations. Actively participates in area and department meetings. Attends other meetings as requested.Education/ExperienceEducation and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in health information management, Healthcare A d m i n i s tr a t i on, B u s i n e ss , A c c oun t i n g, F i n a n c e or another related field. Experience: M i n i m u m 3 years’ previous experience in hospital revenue cycle, health information management or other healthcare related field. Licensure and CertificationPreferred, but not required: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); Professional or Hospital Coder; Professional or Hospital Biller; or Registered Nurse with previous denials experience.
