The Scientific Team at Russell Tobin and Associates is hiring a Research Associate III for a top leading technology organization near Mountain View, CA.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop microbial strain construction strategies based on project objectivesExecute molecular cloning and strain engineering workflows (Gibson Assembly, Golden Gate, CRISPR/Cas9)Perform high-throughput cloning, DNA preparation, and microbial transformationsTroubleshoot experimental workflows and optimize strain build pipelinesMaintain accurate documentation in ELN/LIMS systems (e.g., Benchling)Collaborate with scientists and engineers to improve SOPs, efficiency, and reproducibilityRequired QualificationsB.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field3+ years of industrial experience in strain engineering or molecular biologyHands-on experience with microbial culturing (E. coli or S. cerevisiae)Strong background in molecular cloning and genome engineering techniquesHigh attention to detail with strong experimental rigor and documentation practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience with lab automation (e.g., Tecan, Agilent Bravo, liquid handling systems)Exposure to non-model microbial systemsAdvanced use of Benchling or other ELN/LIMS platformsFamiliarity with bioinformatics or molecular design tools (e.g., Geneious)Additional Details:Location: Mountain View, CAPosition Type: 6 months contractSalary range approved: $75-80/hr depending on experience Must be authorized to work in the United States.
