Become a part of our talented deugro team as we look for a Customs Entry Writer in The Woodlands (Houston), USA.Key Responsibilities:The Customs Entry Writer will have the responsibility to arrange transportation of goods for various daily operations and project assignments with local and overseas offices, and for the import sea, air, and road freight forwarding activities of our branch office in The Woodlands, TX.Customs Entry Writer duties and responsibilities will include the following; other duties may be assigned:Responsible for overseas communications that includes anticipation of needs in overnight correspondenceApprove and post vendor invoices and bill customers after shipment is completeTracking and tracing cargo to its destinationInteracting with customers, vendors, and foreign agentsResponding in a timely manner to customer request on shipment statusAccurate, efficient preparation of all required paperwork for delay-free customs clearanceConsistent excellence in Reliability, Professionalism, and TeamworkMaintaining current knowledge of seasonal, political, or other factors that could cause delayAbility to work independently with little supervisionRecords or files copy of orders receivedVerifies shipping orders to ensure they are accurate with regards to quantity shipped; this is done by comparing shipping documents with computer generated reportsFamiliar with INCOTERMS 2000Adhere to all company policies in areas of Compliance, QHSES, Code of Business Conduct, Employee Handbook, etc.Ability to file for US Imports customs entry timely and efficientlyComply with all safe work practices and procedures set in place by deugroAdhere and enforce deugro QHSES Policy and ProceduresWork with due care and consideration to safeguard own health and safety and the health and safety of othersReport incidents/accidents/near missesSkills, Knowledge, and Expertise:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Minimum 2 years of Customs Brokerage experience requiredExcellent communication Verbal & Written.Experience with ocean, air, and cross border customs releases.Experience with PGA claim and disclaim processes minimum FDA, TSCAComputer skills Microsoft Outlook and Excel.Positive attitude and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced working environmentMultitasking Skills Able to handle various assignments in daily coordination with overseas offices.Focus Pay attention to the customer's needs and commit to exceeding them.Creative thinking and open to new ideas.High School diploma or general education degree (GED), some higher education preferred; and three to five years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be familiar with current software packages such as Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Must be familiar with the data works system and be able to input and retrieve dataWhat makes us the ideal choice?
