Logistics Supervisor (Hartford)

The Logistics Supervisor oversees daily shipping, receiving, and transportation activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This role leads logistics team members in maintaining compliance with company policies and DOT regulations, while supporting continuous improvement in cost, service, and performance consistent with CSMI's "Right. On Time. Every Time." and "Own It, Can Do, Act in Love" values.Core Functions:Supervise daily logistics operations, including shipping schedules, route planning, and carrier assignments, to ensure on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction.Monitor shipment tracking and address delays or service issues proactively to meet established service-level expectations.Lead, train, and develop logistics team members to achieve high performance, accuracy, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.Collaborate with Production, Customer Service, and Sales teams to align logistics priorities with order fulfillment goals.Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety standards, maintaining accurate driver and fleet documentation.Analyze key logistics metrics (on-time delivery, freight costs, claims) and implement corrective or preventive actions to improve efficiency.Support cost-control initiatives by evaluating carrier performance, freight rates, and load optimization opportunities.Champion continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to reduce waste, streamline processes, and improve throughput.Performs other duties and activities related to the department as necessary to support overall operations and responsibilities, even if not specifically listed above.
