Project Controls Scheduler & Cost Controller

The Project Controls Scheduler & Cost Controller is a dual-function role responsible for planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and financial performance management across power generation and energy-delivery projects. This position supports the full project lifecycle-from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout-ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and in alignment with company objectives.This role is ideal for a seasoned project controls professional who thrives in a small-team environment and can wear multiple hats while supporting rapid-paced energy projects for high-demand commercial and industrial customers.Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling & PlanningDevelop, maintain, and analyze detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities into a cohesive, resource-loaded schedule.Monitor progress, identify schedule variances, and recommend corrective actions or recovery plans.Prepare weekly and monthly schedule updates, look-ahead plans, and critical path analyses.Collaborate with construction teams to validate field progress, sequencing, and activity durations.Maintain schedule baselines and ensure all changes are properly documented.Cost Control & Financial TrackingDevelop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems.Track actual costs, commitments, and expenditures across all project phases.Prepare monthly cost reports, cash-flow projections, and variance analyses for leadership.Support development of estimates, change orders, and financial impact assessments.Monitor cost trends, risks, and deviations, providing recommendations to maintain budget alignment.Maintain accurate cost coding structures and ensure proper allocation of costs to work packages.Project Controls IntegrationEnsure alignment between schedule forecasts and cost performance metrics.Support earned value analysis and integrated project reporting.Provide clear, data-driven insights to project managers and leadership to support decision-making.Assist with project closeout, final cost reporting, and lessons-learned documentation.Qualifications10+ years of experience in project controls, including scheduling and cost control responsibilities.Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and full Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Construction experience required; experience in power, industrial, or energy infrastructure strongly preferred.Solid understanding of EPC project lifecycles, construction sequencing, and cost drivers.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced project environment with multiple active projects.Hybrid work schedule will be initially utilized, but may change in the future.
