Lead Data Scientist

Job Title: Data Scientist Location: Onsite – Orlando, FL Contract: 6+ Months Responsibilities: Basic Qualifications: Must demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the following four analytical fields of Statistics, Optimization, Econometrics, and/or Machine Learning. Achieve Business Goals and Objectives: Research and develop decision science models while serving as a consultant to various business units within The Walt Disney Company. Pursue Innovation: Conduct research on advanced analytical techniques and translate findings into practical, sustainable solutions for end users. Utilize Technical Expertise: Perform data collection, data mining, and build state-of-the-art decision science algorithms, tools, and systems. Drive Business Value: Model and analyze revenue management and pricing-related issues using mathematical, statistical, and simulation techniques. Communicate Effectively: Present scientific results and insights to business partners and stakeholders. Support Enterprise Initiatives: Contribute to a global, enterprise-wide mission by leveraging data-driven insights. Qualifications General Computing: Python, Java, C, C++, etc. Statistical Computing: R, SAS, etc. Scientific Computing: Julia, MATLAB, etc. Required Education: Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Econometrics, or a related field. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of machine learning models using R and Python to solve complex data problems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy models on AWS and ensure scalability. Utilize SQL for data extraction and manipulation, while leveraging big data technologies like Hadoop. Mentor junior data scientists and drive best practices in model training and deployment. Analyze large datasets using natural language processing techniques to derive actionable insights. Stay updated with advancements in AI and machine learning frameworks to enhance project outcomes.
