Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/27/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Orthopedic Job Details: • Must be charge capable and willing to take charge responsibilities • Orthopedic experience required with minimum 2 years of specialty experience • EPIC experience required • Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6 • No on-call requirements • May be floated to other in-patient units including rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, and observation • Care for patients with total joint replacements (knees, hips, shoulders), ortho spine procedures (ACDF, TILF), and other orthopedic surgeries including tendon repairs and revisions • Work with special equipment including bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, and orthopedic braces • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA certifications required) • Must have Compact or Louisiana license in hand upon submittal • NURSYS reports required and must be up to date within 4 weeks of submission • Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • No RTO greater than 2 weeks allowed • Block scheduling not accommodated • Must be available for Emergency Team assignment during emergency events • 2 Manager/Supervisor references required for clearance to start • Orientation held 5 days a week with billable modules Facility: This orthopedic specialty center is part of a comprehensive healthcare system that provides advanced orthopedic care and surgical services.
