Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/20/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Orthopedic Job Details: • Must be charge capable and willing to serve in charge role • Orthopedic experience required • EPIC experience required • Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6 • No on-call requirements • Float to other in-patient units including rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, and observation • Care for patients with total joint replacements (knees, hips, shoulders), ortho spine procedures (ACDF, TILF), and other orthopedic surgeries • Work with special equipment including bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, and orthopedic braces • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA certifications required) • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required • Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • Louisiana Compact or LA license required in hand upon submittal • NURSYS reports required and must be up to date within 4 weeks of submission • No call-ins permitted • RTO must be on profile and discussed in interview • May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to stay until event passes • First-time travelers not accepted • No RTO greater than 2 weeks allowed • Block scheduling not accommodated Facility: This specialized orthopedic center is part of a comprehensive healthcare system that provides advanced orthopedic surgical services and post-operative care.
