School Based Physical TherapistThe ideal candidate is a skilled professional that is passionate about delivering quality care and making a real difference. This position is for a Pediatric Physical Therapist to work in the Elmira City School District. This position can be considered for a 10 month or 12 month full-time position. If 10 months is preferred, the candidate would have summers off.Main FunctionThe Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment programs, and provides therapeutic interventions following the principles of Physical Therapy. This role collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary care team and reports to the Clinical Coordinator of Rehab Services.What You'll DoReview therapy requisitions and evaluate patients' physical condition and needs.Develop treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, gait training, soft tissue techniques, modalities, and functional training.Instruct patients in proper use of mobility aids, braces, prosthetics, and equipment.Reassess and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical judgment.Communicate with physicians and team members to coordinate patient care.Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.Provide guidance to rehab support staff assisting with patient care.Maintain safety standards, equipment, and infection control procedures.Assist with departmental quality initiatives and committee participation.Transport patients when necessary and support Senior Therapists in their absence.Participate in ongoing education, trainings, and professional development.Provide age‑appropriate care to patients across all age groups.Education & LicensureMust be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Physical Therapist in New York State.BLS required within 90 days of hire.ExperienceHospital/acute care experience preferred.Physical DemandsModerate to significant physical effort including lifting, pushing, and pulling.Must be able to lift 30 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.Exposure CategoryCategory II: No routine exposure to blood or body fluids; may occasionally perform Category I tasks.Infection ControlFollow all universal precautions during patient care.Our CultureAt Arnot Health, our rehab team is built on:Collaboration across therapy, nursing, and medical disciplinesRespectful, patient‑centered care in every interactionSupportive teamwork and open communicationProfessional growth through ongoing education and mentorshipA positive environment where your expertise is valuedBenefits You'll LoveCompetitive compensationMedical, dental, and vision insuranceGenerous paid time off & holidaysRetirement plan with employer contributionTuition assistance & continuing education supportEmployee wellness programsOpportunities for advancement throughout the system
