Job Title: Procurement Category Manager 1 Job Type: Contract Site Type: Remote Duration: 2 Months 18 Days Job Overview: The main function of a Procurement Category Manager is to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. A typical Procurement Category Manager is responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization. A purchasing agent is responsible for the purchase of machinery, equipment, parts, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.Job Responsibilities: Review and potentially optimize suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factorsApprove purchases of the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amountsApprove purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and servicesInstruct staff on how to resolve problems related to undelivered goodsInstruct staff on methods of negotiation, renegotiation and administration of contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representativesConfer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective actionEvaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changesJob Requirements: 1-2 years of experience on procurement category managementMSFT suite experienceAnalytical/Documentation experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical dataAbility to accurately document and record customer/client informationKnowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasingPrior experience as a Microsoft Corp. contractorKnowledge of supply chain management.Attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical dataAbility to accurately document and record customer/client informationKnowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasingKnowledge of supply chain managementPrevious experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel*Salary Range: $23/hr with Medical, Vision, and Dental Benefits
