Leaders Credit Union Holiday pay Telehealth through 98point6 – free to all employees Continuing Education opportunities POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current local, state and federal standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator to ensure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities and coordinate those services and activities with other related departments Conduct regular rounds of the facility to check all maintenance zones to ensure the quality control and safety, health and welfare of patients, employees, families, visitors in the facility, and correct or report equipment failure or damage to the Administrator immediately Check air conditioning and heating units on roof and in patients’ rooms, office and other rooms in the facility Check pump station and breaker panels, washers and dryers in laundry Make daily repairs as needed Check water and boiler temperature, dietary cooking equipment, cooling equipment, public address system, fire extinguishers and alarms, fire doors, and electrical outlets Interpret the Department’s policies and procedures to employees, patients, visitors, and government agencies Complete forms, reports, evaluations and studies to ensure control of equipment and supplies Submit accident and incidents reports Inspect storage rooms, work rooms, utility and janitorial closets for up-keep, supply control and safety Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of that plan to Administration Delegate a responsible staff member to act in your behalf when absent from the facility Assist in identifying, evaluating and classifying routine and job-related maintenance functions to ensure that universal precautions are carried out with the facility Review departmental complaints and grievances from personnel, patients, visitors, etc., and make written report of action to be taken for correction Serve on related committees and report on maintenance services as required by the committee’s guidelines or objectives Inventory and request needed supplies to perform assigned tasks Recognize and respond to maintenance emergencies and document observations, interventions and outcomes Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and other information relating to patients, employees and facility Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients’ personal and health care needs Required Skills: Communication skills and active listening Required Work Experience: One (1) year experience in a maintenance/plant supervisory position Licensing/Certification/Education Requirements: Technical degree in maintenance field, to include electrical, mechanical, general construction Other Requirements: Position may require unscheduled overtime, week-end work Must be willing and able to work flexible hours Travel required Required Computer Software/Equipment Used: Standard Office Equipment Computer Physical Requirements: Includes both climate-controlled and extreme temperatures Moderate to heavy physical effort; lifting to sixty-five (65) pounds is required Frequent walking or standing required Noise level is minimal The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Required Safety Expectations: Working safely and follow safety rules Report unsafe working conditions and behaviors Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises, trains, provides work direction, and problem solving for other workers Supervisor frequently determines priorities Occasionally needs manager’s direction due to extraordinary circumstances COMPETENCIES: Analytical Thinking: Able to gather and analyze data and reach appropriate conclusion; Solves problems in a timely manner.
