LPN (Neuro) - full time, nights - Mercy Jefferson (Festus)

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Position Details: LPN Sign On Bonus $2,000 Neuro LPN 36 hours per week, Days Mercy Hospital Jefferson Festus, MO 63028 The Neuro/ Pulmonary Stroke Unit:The most common pulmonary diagnoses we see are COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, and pneumonia. Our pulmonary patients may be on high flow oxygen, BiPAP, or have tracheostomies or chest tubes. These patients require complex assessment, aggressive therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance.We work closely with the Stroke Coordinator to care for Acute Stroke and TIA patients. We do utilize tele-neuro services at times. Neuro patients require frequent assessments to assess for subtle changes in condition. Stroke education is provided.Qualifications:Required Education: Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school License: current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, IV Certification within 1 year.
