Senior Software Development Test Engineer (Remote)
Overview:
In this role, you define and implement testing strategies and automation for Cisco Isovalent's software agents across Unix, Linux, and Windows. You'll build scalable tests and infrastructures that run across VMs, containers, and cloud environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and security before production. You collaborate with software engineers to refine capabilities and drive quality across the product lifecycle. This position offers impact at scale, shaping how workloads are observed, policies enforced, and runtime security is delivered. You'll join a cross-functional team within Cisco to advance secure, observable AI infrastructure. Responsibilities:
- Define and develop testing strategies, frameworks, automation, and environments for software agents across Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms
- Design automated tests that continuously evaluate functionality, reliability, and performance over extended periods
- Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure for virtual machines, containers, and cloud environments
- Develop testing approaches for agents that collect workload and network information, enforce network policies, protect containers, and provide runtime security
- Integrate automated testing into the software development and product delivery lifecycle
- Analyze test results, identify defects and reliability issues, and collaborate with engineering to resolve problems
- Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional teams from product concept to production deployment
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 5+ years of experience or Master's with 3+ years of experience
- Experience testing complex software products or systems
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience developing or implementing automated software testing
- Experience working across the software development lifecycle and shipping software into productioncollaboration with cross-functional teamsproblem-solving under complex environmentscommunication of testing results and defects
