Our dedicated teams combine expertise with a hands-on service model, delivering integrated, flexible solutions that help businesses and their people thrive.Position Summary:The Commercial Lines New Business Marketing Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional experience to Producers. This position drives new commercial business development from start to finish — identifying target markets, crafting and submitting to carriers, negotiating competitive terms, preparing proposals, and onboarding new accounts. The role also owns key carrier relationships, manages the full new business workflow, and ensures precise account documentation across all agency systems.Essential Functions:• Building and maintaining carrier / producer relationships.• Proactively learning product and underwriting standards.• Creating complete carrier submissions.• Gathering additional submission information – loss runs, supplemental applications driver/vehicle/equipment lists.• Evaluating coverage, terms, conditions / compares multiple carrier quotes.• Negotiating terms – pricing / coverage.• Prepare Outmarket workflows / comparisons, etc.• Prepare proposals for the review of the Producer.• Gathering binding subjectivities.• Online rating for new, small business opportunities.• Online rating for new, ancillary coverage opportunities.• Maintain accurate records in Epic to ensure compliance and reduce errors.• CSR24 – adding instructions, creating templates, attaching forms/endorsements, and issuing COI’s.• Prepares Welcome Letters on new accounts bound.• Maintain new business spreadsheet.• Maintain carrier contact list in Epic and on the spreadsheet.• Maintain Outmarket carrier appetite.• Other responsibilities as assigned by the New Business Manager.Qualifications3–5+ years of experience servicing commercial lines accounts in an insurance brokerage or agency environmentActive Illinois Property & Casualty Producer License requiredStrong knowledge of small commercial coverages, rating, and carrier marketsExperience working in an agency management system; Applied Epic experience preferredHigh attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced settingStrong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindsetProficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Key Skillset:Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate information, identify trends, and make sound, data-driven decisions.Demonstrates strong critical thinking and a willingness to challenge assumptions by asking thoughtful questions and seeking root causes.Works effectively with cross-functional teams and contributes to a positive, collaborative work environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to influence, build trust, and maintain productive relationships across all levels of the organization.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and strong attention to detail & follow-through.Demonstrates self-awareness, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
