Job Title: Long-Term Substitute TeacherPosition Summary:The Long-Term Substitute Teacher provides instruction, classroom management, and support for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher for an extended period of time. This role requires maintaining a positive learning environment, delivering lessons according to curriculum plans, and ensuring student growth and success during the teacher's absence.Key Responsibilities:Deliver daily instruction following lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or develop plans aligned with school curriculum if needed.Maintain classroom routines and expectations to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and/or assessments.Communicate with school staff, administrators, and parents/guardians as appropriate.Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and planning sessions if required.Support students' academic, social, and emotional needs.Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred in some districts).Valid state teaching license or substitute authorization (requirements vary by district/state).Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.Flexibility, reliability, and ability to adapt to various grade levels and subjects (if applicable).Work Schedule:Full-time during the teacher's absence (length may vary depending on assignment).May be required to take on additional duties such as supervising lunch/recess, attending meetings, or planning lessons.Reports To:Building Principal and/or Department Chair
