At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. This role ensures consistent, high-quality results through proper surface preparation, accurate equipment use, and adherence to established specifications and safety procedures.Essential Job FunctionsPrepare surfaces for painting including grit blastingFollowing established instructions, measures film/paint thicknessMasks areas to be protected from paint, including holes or threadsMixes paint products and primers following standard work instructionsApplies paint or primer using HVLP spray guns and airbrushes, as well as marking and striping by hand Inspects completed work and corrects defectsFollowing operations and HSE procedures, cleans and maintains spray booths, guns, nozzles and paint booth filters after use; ensure correct separation of waste materialsMaintains a clean and safe working environment in line with company housekeeping and HSE policiesPerforms mechanical assembly tasks as requiredOther Job FunctionsComply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies and proceduresEnsure 100% compliance with the Chemring Operational Framework, BACM, Code of Conduct and U.S. Code of Ethics and Business ConductSpecial projects and other duties / responsibilities as assignedSupervisor ResponsibilityN/AEducationHigh School diploma or equivalentExperienceMinimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing or industrial environment; experience with automotive or industrial painting is strongly preferredSkills and QualificationsLawful US person (ITAR restrictions)Must be eligible to possess explosive under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic DevicesAble to work carefully on small, detailed painted parts that require steady hands and accurate placementStrong attention to detailFamiliarity with different coatings, thinners, and curing methodsKnowledge of PPE requirementsAbility to recognize, segregate and handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with CED's HSE procedures, and in accordance with regulatory rulesAbility to read technical drawings and chemical hazard (SDS) labelsSupport the coordination of painting tasks while maintaining quality and meeting expected timelinesPhysical and Other RequirementsAble to sit or stand throughout the shift. Capable of lifting to 35 lbs. without mechanical assistance occasionally, and greater than 35 lbs. with mechanical assistance.
