Teachers & Licensed Professionals - Position - PHYSICAL THERAPISTJob Number 8600042402Start DateOpen DateClosing DatePlans and implements an IEP/IFSP based physical therapy program and activities providing direct service to students and indirect service to other service providers including parents/and other caretakers.Essential FunctionsScreens and evaluates children to determine needs for treatment.Establishes a program of physical therapy services in the child's individualized education program identifying both annual goals and short-term objectives.Supervises service provided by physical therapy students, physical therapy assistants or aides.Meets with parents to discuss extension of activities provided in the school to the home.Observes response of child noting changes, and reports and records changes relevant to physical therapy intervention.Observes accepted professional standards and ethics and safety procedures in providing physical therapy services.Submits Medicaid reimbursement documentation.Maintains caseload documentation including clinical notes and student attendance.Participates in staff meetings and collaborates with other service providers.Trains school-based staff on use of PT equipment.Serves on School IEP Team and IFSP team as requested.Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school boards policies and the professional standards.Desired QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by successful completion of a course in physical therapy accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, in collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association.Current Maryland license as a physical therapist as defined by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Practice.Working knowledge of the basic principles of physical therapy and of human behavior norms and deficits.Working knowledge of the application of physical therapy principles and practices as these apply to children with disabilities.Knowledge of the laws and by-laws covering the education of students with disabilities.Skills in oral and written communication.Excellent human relations skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.Preferred:Full time or Part time Full timeAdditional DetailsQualified candidates for the above position must submit the following:Completed online applicationResume that clearly demonstrates the above minimum qualifications.?It is important that you include all experiences and education related to the position to which you are applying.Upload copies of all transcripts -undergraduate, graduate and all MSDE CertificationsMust provide three (3) professional references to include: name, title, business address, e-mail address and phone numberAll documentation/certification necessary (scanned copies accepted) to substantiate minimum qualifications; must be uploaded into applicationAll documentation must be scanned and uploaded to applicationBenefits?-- This position is eligible for benefits.
