Floater - Custom Metal Fabricator

Shipping experience is highly preferred and would make you a strong fit for our team. Possible raises at 30-60-90 days reviews.ResponsibilitiesAssist with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC laser cutting machine, CNC brake machine to produce precise metal components.Support welding activities using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding to assemble fabricated parts according to blueprints.Conduct quality inspections and use precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet specifications.Willingness to learn to read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble sheet metal components.Operate hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication and installing tasks.Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards related to machine operation and material handling.Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure timely completion of projects while supporting different fabrication stations as needed.Possible travel to other cities in the S.E. United States for short periods of time to do installations. Increased pay for hours worked during those time periods.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience or training in manufacturing or metal fabrication is preferred but not required; a strong mechanical aptitude is essential.Proficiency with blueprint reading and understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles is a plus.Ability to operate CNC machinery including laser cutters and related equipment, or willingness to learn.Knowledge of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding along with safety procedures, or willingness to learn.Familiarity with basic math skills necessary for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.Experience with hand tools, power tools and other precision measuring instruments.Ability to work in a team environment with flexibility to support various fabrication tasks as needed.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality inspection standards.
