About the Opportunity:The Controller role is responsible for managing the organization’s financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities. This position ensures accurate financial record-keeping, oversees month and quarter-end closing processes, and maintains adherence to relevant financial regulations. The Controller supports leadership with financial data and insights that inform strategic decision-making and contributes to maintaining efficient financial operations in a remote, asynchronous environment.3. Responsibilities:Manage multiple time-sensitive financial tasks from various departments.Record daily financial transactions and complete posting processes.Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401(k), and bank accounts monthly.Handle monthly payroll transactions.Prepare periodic financial reports such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements.Maintain accurate financial records.Perform audits and resolve discrepancies.Calculate and track company financial statements.Communicate billing issues to leadership for operational improvements.Participate in workflow enhancements and process integrations.Ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal accounting regulations.Compile, analyze, and report financial data; conduct month/quarter close activities.Present financial data to the organization.Compute taxes and prepare reports for tax filings.Stay informed on relevant financial and accounting legislation.Assist management with budgets and financial forecasts.Participate in vendor research to support system needs during growth.4. Requirements:5-8 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.Accounting degree or equivalent certification.Extensive QuickBooks experience.Experience with international transactions preferred.Familiarity with support ticket software and CRM systems preferred.Exposure to technical systems is a plus.Strong intrinsic motivation and organizational skills.High ethical standards, including knowledge of GDPR and/or HIPAA related to PII.Comfortable working with multiple software tools (Help Scout, Xero, QuickBooks, Pipedrive, Chargebee, Panda Docs, Google Suite, Slack).5.
