Electrical Engineer | ManufacturingCleveland, OH Area | Full-Time | Salary ExemptA multi-billion dollar, publicly traded manufacturing company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support and enhance plant operations through the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing systems and equipment. This is a highly visible role working at the intersection of engineering, maintenance, and production to drive efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement.Position OverviewThe Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and improving manufacturing processes, developing control systems, and supporting capital projects within a dynamic industrial environment. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, particularly in PLC/HMI programming, controls integration, and electrical system design.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and electrical systems within the plantDevelop and maintain PLC and HMI programs (Allen-Bradley platforms) to support automation and process controlCreate and modify electrical schematics and panel designs using AutoCADDesign, program, and integrate vision systems (Cognex or similar) for inspection and automationTroubleshoot and support manufacturing equipment, controls systems, and electrical issues on the plant floorManage and execute capital projects, including new equipment installation and facility upgradesSupport and improve power distribution systems, including transformers and switchgearPartner with maintenance and operations teams to enhance equipment reliability, uptime, and safetyEvaluate and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costsEnsure compliance with NEC codes and internal safety standardsProvide technical guidance to technicians, maintenance personnel, and cross-functional teamsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline1–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environmentHands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming and troubleshootingExperience with AC and servo drive systemsKnowledge of vision systems integration (Cognex preferred)Strong understanding of power distribution systems and industrial electrical infrastructureAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsExperience with instrumentation and loop tuning is a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadershipWhy This OpportunityJoin a financially strong, globally recognized manufacturing organizationHigh-impact role with exposure to advanced automation and capital projectsCollaborative environment with opportunities for technical growth and career advancementPlay a key role in driving efficiency, reliability, and innovation within plant operationsIf you’re an Electrical Engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, automation, and improving manufacturing performance, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a world-class organization.
