Project Manager - Heavy Civil & Sitework Construction

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee heavy civil and sitework construction projects within a self-perform contractor environment. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on utilities, earthwork, and concrete scopes. The position can support either a hands-on execution-level PM or a high-upside step-up candidate (APM or field leader transitioning into project management). This role is critical to maintaining project timelines, coordinating field operations, and supporting overall project delivery as the company continues to stabilize and grow.ResponsibilitiesManage heavy civil and sitework projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are metCoordinate field crews, subcontractors, and internal teams across active job sitesBuild and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting timelines as neededReview drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project scope and execution plansTrack project costs, budgets, and change orders to maintain financial performanceInterface with clients, inspectors, and local agencies to ensure compliance and smooth project progressionSupport procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment for active projectsIdentify and resolve project issues related to scope, schedule, and field executionMaintain organized project documentation, reporting, and communication across stakeholdersRequirements3+ years of project management or assistant project management experience in civil or commercial constructionExperience with sitework, utilities, earthwork, or concrete scopes preferredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExperience working in a self-perform contractor or field-driven environment preferredProficiency with project management tools, scheduling software, and ExcelOpen to candidates transitioning from field leadership roles (foreman, superintendent) with strong civil backgroundMust have direct involvement in project execution (not solely administrative or support roles)Local market experience preferred (candidates outside the region may not be considered)BenefitsCompensation: Competitive salary based on experience.Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
