Job SummarySHI is seeking a Content Strategist & Writer – Modern Workplace to support the Modern Workplace solution pillar as part of the Editorial and Research team. This role is responsible for developing clear, compelling content that drives thought leadership, strengthens brand positioning, and supports campaign and product storytelling.This position blends content strategy, editorial storytelling, and marketing writing, translating complex Modern Workplace technologies, trends, and innovations—including digital collaboration, productivity tools, and employee experience—into clear, value-driven narratives that resonate with target audiences.The Content Strategist partners closely with product and solutions marketing, growth marketing, demand generation, creative teams, and subject matter experts to create content that educates buyers, differentiates SHI in the market, and drives measurable growth across the funnel.Role DescriptionDevelop content strategies aligned to Modern Workplace business goals, go-to-market motions, industry trends, and audience needs, translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narrativesOwn full-funnel written content across formats (blogs, eBooks, whitepapers, webinars, email campaigns, and landing pages), ensuring clear objectives, defined target personas, and messaging aligned to awareness, consideration, and decision stagesCollaborate on non-written content formats such as video, podcasts, infographics, and social media assets to ensure cohesive storytelling across channelsCreate product-adjacent and partner-facing content, including solution briefs, one-pagers, and FAQs, while partnering with creative teams on web copyDevelop innovative approaches to building awareness and demand in a modern, hybrid-work landscape, including buyer-led topic clusters and modular, reusable content strategiesUtilize AI tools effectively to support research and drafting, while applying strong editorial judgment to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with brand voice and guidelinesSupport content publishing in SHI’s Resource Hub using WordPress, ensuring proper tagging, organization, and discoverabilityMonitor Modern Workplace industry trends and connect insights to SHI’s services and solutions in a differentiated and relevant wayPartner with editorial leadership and external agencies to develop primary and secondary research that supports industry-leading thought leadershipIntegrate cross-solution messaging and align content to broader company narratives where appropriateContinuously improve existing content through refreshes, repackaging, and optimizationApply SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) best practices to improve content discoverability, search rankings, and performance across web and campaign assetsWhat Success Looks LikeContent is clear, credible, and grounded in real buyer needsContent drives measurable business impact, including engagement, conversion, lead quality, and sales enablementContent planning aligns to buyer journeys and structured topic clustersContent reflects industry insights and performs across traditional search and AI-driven discovery platformsStakeholders trust your strategic recommendations and content expertiseSHI is increasingly recognized as an industry authority in Modern Workplace solutionsBehaviors and CompetenciesCommunication: Can effectively communicate complex ideas and information, and can adapt communication style to the audience.Detail-Oriented: Can identify errors or inconsistencies in work and make necessary corrections.Research: Can identify the need for, and initiate, independent research to gather necessary information without explicit instructions.Multi-Tasking: Can identify opportunities for task optimization, propose solutions, and manage multiple tasks without explicit instructions.Conceptual Thinking: Can develop and apply moderate conceptual frameworks to solve moderate problems.Time Management: Can generally use time effectively and is working towards improving task prioritization and deadline management.Intellectual Curiosity: Can actively seek out new learning opportunities and apply learned concepts to different situations.Self-Development: Can set personal development goals and take steps to achieve them.Documentation: Can independently create and update documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and can identify gaps or areas needing clarification.Skill Level RequirementsThe ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently. - IntermediateOther RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalent work experience7+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or B2B/technical writingProven experience writing across multiple formats, including digital, long-form, and executive-level contentDemonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas effectivelyExperience working with cross-functional teams including marketing, creative, and subject matter expertsProficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Asana, WordPress, and SEMrushAbility to travel to SHI, partner, and customer events as neededPreferredExperience in Modern Workplace technologies, including collaboration platforms, digital employee experience, or productivity solutionsFamiliarity with product marketing concepts such as positioning, personas, and value propositionsExperience creating sales enablement or go-to-market aligned contentThe estimated annual pay range for this position is $80,000 - $150,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
