Production Supervisor

Responsible for managing fabrication facility consisting of a small machine shop, welding and assembly operations. Oversees production, quality control, shipping and receiving and is responsible for purchasing material and supplies in support ofthe operation.Essential Job FunctionsSupervise 4 – 6 shop personnel to ensure production and quality goals are being met.Ensure that articles are produced in accordance with established specifications.Maintain standards of quality and safety.Ensure that the facility and workstations are maintained in a neat and orderly condition.Utilize replenishment systems maintaining targeted inventory levels based on accurate forecasting.Perform activities related to the timely procurement of goods and services through existing and potential suppliers.Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to ensure accurate retention of records andcommunication.Negotiate lowest possible material cost balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.Maintain, support and provide inventory management outcomes aligned with organizational goals.Oversee/perform all shipping and receiving warehouse functionsEstablish and maintain a standard for professional conduct with a high emphasis on productivity and continuous improvement.Must perform job in a safe manner and observe all safety rules and guidelines.Educational and Skills RequirementsMust have three (3) years or more of related supply chain/continuous improvement experience demonstrating business outcomes.Experience managing or supervising in a machine shop or welding operation is preferred.Must be proficient with supply chain management, continuous improvement and organizational metrics/dashboards.Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office; i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and Supply ChainTechnology/ERP solutions.
