Assistant Store Manager - RetailYork Road Retail Store$19.10-$22.10/hourPay rate is based on experience and education. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) receive an additional $1.50/hour. Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is required to meet customer demand. Reliable transportation is expected for all scheduled shifts. Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily operations in a high-volume retail store. This role supports the Store Manager and assumes full responsibility for the store when the Store Manager is not present. This is an excellent opportunity for a retail leader ready to grow their management experience in a mission-driven organization. What You'll DoSupport the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations Supervise, train, schedule, and coach retail employees and volunteers Lead by example in delivering excellent customer and donor service Help achieve sales, production, and expense control goals Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment Investigate and document accidents, injuries, and safety issues Oversee merchandising, inventory flow, and sales floor presentation Address customer concerns and promote Goodwill's mission and values Assume store leadership responsibilities when the Store Manager is absent Schedule & AvailabilityWeekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is requiredAbility to work flexible shifts, including evenings and holidays Reliable transportation required for each scheduled shift What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required At least 1 year of supervisory experience in retail or a related environment Strong people leadership, customer service, and merchandising skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision Self-starter mindset with flexibility to learn and grow Additional RequirementsValid driver's license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle required Ability to perform all essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation Physical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs (frequent lifting up to 25 lbs) Stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands throughout shift Medium physical demand work environment Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
