PURPOSEThe purpose of the Power Equipment Operator position is to safely perform all material handling tasks requiring the use of Powered Industrial Equipment. The position is responsible for completing the fulfillment of customer orders - with or without the use of power equipment (such as forklifts, swing reach trucks or order pickers) - as directed through work instructionESSENTIAL DUTIESOperate Man Up power equipment for a minimum of 75% of shift hoursEnsure respective area and equipment is compliant with 5S standardsProcess all tasks associated with established customer order fulfillment standards as distributed by managementAdherence to all department work instructionsExecute basic to advanced work flow tasks on established WMS/ERP SMC systemsReport all inventory discrepancies to managementAdherence to all safety rules and regulationsAdherence to all Quality Management system standards and policiesAbility to meet established productivity and quality standardsAll other duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTPhysical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.The position requires an OSHA-approved self-rescue safety harness (weighing 15 pounds) be worn at all times while operating equipmentThe person is frequently required to lift 25 pounds or greater, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, crouch or crawlMust be able to effectively communicate (reading, writing, speaking) with command of the English languageThe work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust, and heightsMust be able to operate power equipment for long periods while maintaining focus and concentration MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust have a valid driver's licenseMust pass SMC's written and practical powered equipment certification trainingPrior experience in a warehouse environment desirableAbility to work well in a team environmentAbility to effectively communicate. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.Basic computer and RF Scanner skills preferredThis is a 2nd Shift position (PM)
