JOCO DC City Manager

At JOCO, we empower gig workers to complete last-mile deliveries by removing all the hassle of owning, storing, charging, and maintaining E-Bikes. Since our launch in late April 2021, we’ve helped thousands of couriers complete millions of deliveries and have partnered with major players in the delivery market. We’re now expanding to Washington DC and are looking to hire a City Manager to lead our team. The CM reports directly to the VP Operations & Strategy. What you will do Treat the DC market as your own startup - drive P&L performance, partnerships, customer growth, and retention through hands-on ownership of market KPIs. Orchestrate daily operations across the Mechanic, Field, and Concierge teams, helping teams to prioritize the most high impact tasks.  Work with the Corporate Team, sharing daily and weekly reports on market metrics, successes, and challenges, while leveraging digital tools and dashboards to efficiently and accurately track progress. Oversee hiring, training, and management of mechanics, field associates, operations staff, and concierge associates. Identify target station locations and lead lease acquisition negotiations with landlords and brokers.Continuously design, implement, and iterate on operational processes. Identify, negotiate with, and manage local contractors.  What you will need 3+ years of experience working in Operations or Strategy-related fields, with an exceptional aptitude for analytical thinking, driving operational efficiency, and accelerating growth. Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team in a warehouse environment. Strong problem solving skills and a can-do mentality: no job is too big or small, and no challenge is insurmountable.  Capable of leveraging data to support theses and discover nuanced insights: experience with SQL is a strong plus.An unbounded work ethic, willingness to take responsibility, a drive to succeed, and the ability to adapt as the operation scales. Familiarity with bikes and/or the micromobility industry is a plus but not essential.
