Job Title: Lead Technical Designer OuterwearLocation: Beaverton, OR (PHK Hybrid/Onsite, Fridays Remote)Duration: 6+ Months ContractJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Designer to support Men s Sportswear/Outerwear and Men s & Women s Basketball Outerwear product categories. This role will own fit and construction from concept through commercialization and production, ensuring products are delivered on time while meeting performance, quality, sustainability, and profitability goals.The ideal candidate will bring deep technical design expertise with a strong focus on outerwear pattern making, garment construction, and apparel development. Candidates with experience at major global apparel or athletic brands are highly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn fit, pattern engineering, and garment construction throughout the product lifecycleCreate and revise Tech Packs, product specifications, and development documentationDrive fit consistency and construction standards across assigned product categoriesPartner closely with Design, Product Management, PCC, Materials, and Manufacturing teamsTrack and facilitate prototyping, fittings, and product testing processesIdentify construction and manufacturing challenges and provide technical solutionsEnsure manufacturability and product integrity while meeting development timelinesCommunicate fit progress, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional teamsStay current on market trends, consumer insights, and emerging technologiesServe as a technical resource and mentor within the teamRequired QualificationsBachelor s degree in Apparel Design, Textile Science, or related field(Additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of degree)8+ years of technical design experience within the apparel industryStrong experience in pattern making with outerwear expertise requiredDeep understanding of apparel development from concept through productionExperience with grading, garment construction, materials, costing, manufacturing, and qualityStrong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentExperience collaborating with factory vendors and manufacturing partnersPreferred QualificationsExperience working with large global athletic or apparel brandsFlexible, self-starter mindset with strong cross-functional collaboration skillsExperience interpreting design intent and providing technical solutionsTechnical SkillsAdobe IllustratorCAD Pattern Design Software (Optitex)3D Design Software (Clo/Browzwear)Microsoft Office SuiteAdditional InformationHybrid onsite role at PHK (Fridays remote)Open to relocation candidates (relocation not sponsored)Domestic and international travel up to 10% may be requiredContract coverage for FTE leave support
