Installations will be up to code and Villara's exceptional quality standards. Applicants with little to no experience can learn on-the-job through our Advanced Learning Program.Technical Responsibilities of the JobInstall vents, duct work (flex), plenum and registers in residential and apartment houses or buildings using hand and power tools according to code and established company procedures.Measure and cut sheet metal by using hand and power tools.Move materials from delivery area to installation area.Set and place forced air and A/C units.Assembles bags of pre-assembled air handling systems by taping, caulking and/or Panduit strapping at common attachment points according to plans.Clean up all debris on the job site and sweep up sawdust.Exercise caution when operating or using tools and equipment and follow safety procedures.Lean Principles including 5SOther duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management.Behavioral Responsibilities of the JobSelf-motivated, organized with a can-do attitudeDesire to learn and master all aspects of installing HVAC systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a changing teamCommitted to creating and participating in a positive workplace cultureCapable of providing excellent internal and external customer interactionsDesire to work with hands and to be outsideCommitted to arriving on time and ready to workCommitted to follow safety proceduresAppropriate time taken for rest and meal breaksUse of personal cell phones for emergency or while on rest and meal breaks onlyLeadership ResponsibilitiesSelf-leadership capabilities the ability to lead yourself to meet your goals and those of the companyAbility to lead from within the team and to offer assistance and guidance to other team membersLead in the development of your own career with the assistance of the Skills Matrix and Dozuki Standard Work AppTraining/CertificationPrior construction or HVAC experience a plusEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredGraduate of Apprenticeship Program is required for JourneymanWorking conditions and management style:Subject to adverse weather conditions extreme heat and coldJob sites can be loud, dusty,Level of supervision to be expectedMay be working in elevated areas (up to 2 stories)Climbing, stooping, bending, crawlingPerformance Standards:Percentage of time spent in field, traveling, in meetings, etc. (varies)Installers and Tradesman use a Field Skills Matrix to meet job goals and expectations review with supervisorAll Villara employees are expected to work well with other team members, sub-contractors, and customersMeeting deadlines as outlined by supervisor (bid times)Showing up every day and on-timeTaking appropriate time for rest and meal breaksNo personal phone calls unless emergencyComplete timecards dailyMeeting Lean requirementsWhat position is the next level up?Installer-Tradesman-Leadman-Journeyman-Foreman-SupervisorWhat are the additional skills that are required to promote into the next level-up position?Ability to run one or more jobsAbility to trainOrganizational and leadership skillsStrong communication skills; ability to communicate with superintendentsExperience in ordering material, scheduling manpowerSome labor budget knowledgeMaterial management experienceHow many of these additional skills are required in order to promote?75% of the skills noted above are required.
