We endeavor to be a highly effective, lean, and fast-moving organization.The Lifeguard Supervisor (age 18+) is responsible for leading the daily directives of our aquatic facilities. This is a SEASONAL, full-time position and reports to the Assistant General Manager.Duties & Responsibilities Administrative DutiesTrain staff on policies from the lifeguard handbookComplete required reports on a timely basisAssist with scheduling staff, monitoring payroll, and maintaining compliance with labor budgetParticipates in the recruitment process and selection of talent for the departmentDaily DutiesMaintains constant surveillance of guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of guests in the event of an emergencyProvides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical servicesEnsures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergenciesPerforms various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facilityComply with all aquatic facility rules and lifeguard handbookOther Essential DutiesCollaborate with park and home office departmentsRespond to guest inquiries using the company’s service recovery guidelinesUtilize and learn reservation system for daily planningPresent professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer serviceRequired to perform the same tasks as the individuals they superviseParticipate in other projects and activities as assignedEducation/Training/ExperienceAt least one-year lifeguard experienceValid Lifeguard (CPR, AED, and first aid) certification, or willingness to obtain, is requiredExperience in customer service and hospitality preferredQualifications/RequirementsBasic computer skills Strong organizational, motivational, and leadership skillsExcellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail, speed, and accuracyAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong work ethic and a positive attitudeRequired to work nights, weekends, and holidaysWork with minimal supervisionMaintain composure under pressureMaintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management Essential Physical DemandsAble to move up to 100 lbsMust be able to remain in a stationary positionRegularly move throughout the pool areaAble to perform strenuous physical tasks necessary for a water rescueContinuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawlUse arms and hands to reach, lift, and operate life-saving equipmentConstant exposure to outside weather conditionsAble to continuously scan all areas of the pool with a clear visionAble to adequately hear noises and distinguish distress signalsAble to communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distance in every day and loud situationsNorthgate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
