We partner with school districts to deliver personalized tutoring programs and provide highly qualified staff that meet the needs of schools across the country.Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grant/RFP Writer to support funding and contract acquisition efforts across educational programs and services. In this role, you will manage the full grant/RFP lifecyclefrom identifying funding opportunities to writing and submitting compelling proposals. You will collaborate closely with internal subject matter experts to develop persuasive narratives that highlight program impact and support organizational growth. This role is critical in expanding access to quality education and advancing student success initiatives.Key Responsibilities: Grant & RFP Prospecting:Research and identify relevant RFPs, grants, and contracting opportunities from state, district, and charter agenciesUse databases and independent research to proactively source opportunities aligned with organizational servicesStay current on education funding trends, RFP cycles, and best practicesProposal Development & Submission:Write clear, compelling, and tailored grant proposals and RFP responsesDevelop narratives that communicate program impact, outcomes, and alignment with agency goalsEnsure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to all submission requirements and deadlinesCommunicate with grant/RFP contacts to clarify requirements and manage questions throughout the processGrant/RFP Management & Reporting:Track deadlines, submission requirements, and award statusesMaintain organized records of applications, communications, and outcomesMonitor success rates and support continuous improvement of proposal strategyCollaborate with finance and program teams to ensure compliance with awarded funding requirementsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Education, Public Policy, or related field1+ year of experience in grant writing, RFP writing, or related proposal developmentSkills: Strong writing, research, and storytelling abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and work independentlyStrong analytical skills with the ability to incorporate data into proposalsEffective communication and stakeholder management skillsPreferred Qualifications: Experience writing K-12 education grants or RFPsProven success securing funding from state, district, or charter agenciesFamiliarity with federal education funding (e.g., Title I, U.S. Department of Education grants)Experience working with school districts or charter networksUnderstanding of program evaluation, reporting, and data-driven outcomesBenefits: Flexible, remote work environmentOpportunity to contribute to meaningful, mission-driven education initiativesExposure to a wide range of K-12 funding and contracting opportunitiesCollaborative and supportive team environmentSmartStart Education, LLC participates in E-Verify and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Compensation details: 30-35 Hourly WagePIf716909c46f9-26289-40388821
