We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Montpelier, OH. This locum tenens opportunity offers 24-hour call coverage, starting as soon as possible (ASAP). Responsibilities: Provide on-call general surgical coverage, responding to a variety of surgical emergencies and traumas. Perform a range of general surgical procedures on adult patients, including but not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, and wound care. Collaborate with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the designated electronic medical record system. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in general surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Ohio (OH) medical license and a valid DEA registration are mandatory. Board certification in General Surgery is required. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Minimum of two years of experience in a general surgery setting is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in general surgery. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment. Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment with on-call responsibilities.
