The role involves working with new technologies and automated equipment to build technical skills, serving as the Fabrication expert on NPD teams, and collaborating with Present Product groups as projects transition to production.Primary ResponsibilitiesThis position will be a team member representing Manufacturing Engineering (Fabrication) on a key New Product Development (NPD) projectCollaborate with a cross-functional NPD team and lead efforts focusing on DFM/DFA as well as selection of appropriate manufacturing technologies and processesFill project management role and technical expert role on critical new automated equipment purchasesSupport cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and other continuous improvement projects as required in support of fabrication business unitFocus on safety within manufacturing environmentProvide technical support as a subject matter expert for production support engineering, maintenance, and operationsExpedite equipment and tooling repairs with a sense of urgencySpecify and install new capital equipment as requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or related1-3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of integrated manufacturing systemsUnderstanding of Fluid Power Systems (hydraulic and pneumatic)Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and proactively create contingency plansMust be able to work with sense of urgency and under pressurePreferred QualificationsUnderstanding of equipment safety, functional safety, and risk assessment and safety validation processUnderstanding of PLC systems and ability to troubleshootUnderstanding of robotic systems (Fanuc Preferred)Basic understanding of electrical concepts and controlsExperience with sheet metal fabrication.We Value Our Employees By ProvidingCompetitive compensation based on skillsIndustry leading health, dental, and vision plansGenerous 401 (K) savings and profit sharingOn-site UW Health clinic, fitness center, and walking pathsEducation assistance and internal training programsElectric vehicle chargingMaternity & paternity leaveInterested in learning more on our robust benefits package we offer?
