DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the processing and payment of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and check requests. They also support the Accounts Payable department and related accounting functions.Summary Of Essential Job FunctionsCode AP invoices and expense reports with proper general ledger accountsReview all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to paymentData entry of the invoices into GPSort and distribute incoming mailPrioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment termsRespond to all vendor inquiriesReconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepanciesPrint and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checksDistribute signed checks as requiredAssist accounts payable in month-end closingMaintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practicesDaily accounts payable filing and copyingAfter input, invoices are forwarded to the accounts payable supervisor who will review coding and update the registerMatch accounts payable checks to the invoicesMaintain vendor master filesPay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, resolving purchase orders, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-paymentsAssist with other projects as neededPerform other duties as assignedPosition RequirementsCollege courses in accounting are preferred2+ years of accounts payable experienceBasic accounting knowledge and Microsoft Excel skills including formulasKnowledge of NetSuite preferredOrganizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills10 key by touchPossess intermediate typing skillsCredit One Bank, N.A. is a data-driven financial services company based in Las Vegas.
